1060 Carbon Steel Katana

This sword is forged using the traditional hand forge Muku-kitae method and is made of 1060 High Carbon Steel with a clay temper process, resulting in a blade hardness of 55 HRC. The hamon and hardness are created using the temper process, ensuring a real hamon, not a wire brushed or printed one. The grip is wrapped with real ray skin and black cotton cord, and the edge is extremely sharp and hand honed. The sword features steel tsuba, fuchi, and kashira, as well as a brass habaki. It can be disassembled for care or display, and has a hardwood handle with dual bamboo mekugi (peg). The hardwood scabbard has a high-quality piano paint finish, and the sword comes complete with a black cotton storage bag and Musashi retail box.

The blade is constructed from differentially hardened 1060 carbon steel, with an authentically created hamon using the traditional forging method. It is well balanced and full tang, with a very sharp edge. The tsuba is made of alloy with a wheel design, while the fuchigashira features a wave theme. The ito has alternating crossovers wrapped on top of real ray skin samegawa, and two bamboo mekugi secure the tang of the sword into the tsuka core. The saya is made of wood with a black high gloss finish, and the sageo is black cotton.
